INspired by Nature

In my previous two Blogs I have talked about how architects seem to favour using the brilliance of building reflective prisms for today's world, and also how nature inspired me to design the GLASSLANDS Collection. Its evident that the beauty which surrounds us everyday is the catalyst for changing the way we see and live in this world.

The image shown here was taken at Southbrook Vineyards during the exhibition this Summer, and shows the sculpture "INspired" which apes the "Shard Tower" being built in London, England. Set against the backdrop of the vineyards and Southbrook’s award winning Jack Diamond inspired hospitality pavilion, the sculpture appears to become the connecting rod between the land and the glass building acting as a lens through which we can see new found beauty.

Southbrook is the first winery building to receive the Gold level of LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) from the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) in November 2008. Bill and Marilyn Redelmeier, owners of Southbrook are ground breaking entrepreneurs in the world of sustainable viticulture, and their pursuit of this ideal has made Southbrook an award winning winery.
